Fresh allegations have surfaced against Himanshu Monga, the director-cum-principal of Bandla Hydro Engineering College, who was arrested on Thursday in a sexual harassment case. Several students came forward on Saturday, accusing Monga of repeated physical and mental abuse, including sending inappropriate messages and making harassing phone calls.

According to the students, Monga would threaten to reduce their marks if they did not respond to his advances. He allegedly summoned students to his office and behaved inappropriately during their visits.

The 51-year-old principal’s arrest followed protests over a viral video allegedly showing him attempting to inappropriately touch a female student under a blanket in a hospital. Police said the incident occurred in March 2024.

Students also reported other instances of misconduct. One student alleged that Monga misbehaved with her while she was unwell and being carried. Another claimed she was mistreated during an examination. Several students alleged that Monga filmed them without consent and coerced faculty members into silence when complaints were made.

The matter was investigated by a district-level committee, which has submitted its findings to Technical Education Director Akshay Sood. Sood assured strict action would follow.

Meanwhile, an earlier complaint filed by a former student of Sundernagar Engineering College on the e-Samadhan portal in April has resurfaced online. The complainant alleged similar misconduct by Monga during his tenure there as a senior faculty member, particularly inappropriate behavior towards female students.
