During a party meeting in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin launched a scathing attack on the Leader of Opposition, Edappadi K Palaniswami.
Stalin mockingly stated that Palaniswami should live for another 100 years and remain the permanent general secretary of the AIADMK, as his continued leadership would make the DMK's task easier.
The Deputy Chief Minister also revived his recent allegation that Palaniswami had deliberately obstructed an ambulance during a public meeting. He mocked the AIADMK chief, claiming he gets angered even at the sight or sound of an ambulance, in contrast to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leaders and the general public, who believe ambulances have the right of way. Stalin clarified that his original comment about an ambulance was a veiled reference to the BJP creating a political situation that would necessitate Palaniswami being taken away in one, with the Chief Minister being the only person to come to his rescue.
The DMK youth wing secretary also lambasted the AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) for its alleged internal feuding, claiming that new factions are being created every day.
Stalin mocked Palaniswami's campaign slogan, "Protect people, retrieve Tamil Nadu," by challenging him to first retrieve his own party from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In his address, Stalin also urged his party functionaries to work diligently to ensure the DMK retains power, paving the way for it to form the government for the seventh time in its history.
