BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, criticising his choice of words and accusing him of having what she called a “rotten and corrupt mindset.”
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments, Kangana questioned the language used by the Congress leader, especially his comments related to the Epstein files.
“Look at his choice of words. The way he spoke about the Epstein files too, saying there is more ‘maal’ and ‘kebab’ in it. What can you expect from a person with such a rotten and corrupt mindset?” Ranaut said while speaking to the media.
She also said such remarks were inappropriate for a senior leader holding the post of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. She added that political leaders should show dignity and sensitivity, particularly when talking about serious international issues.
Kangana said repeated use of what she described as casual or crude language reflects badly on Rahul Gandhi’s style of politics.
She also claimed that his comments show a lack of seriousness and moral responsibility, adding that such language lowers the level of political debate in the nation. She said people expect accountability and maturity from elected representatives, especially those who aspire to lead the nation.
The Congress party did not immediately respond to Ranaut’s statement. However, Rahul Gandhi’s comments have earlier also drawn criticism from the BJP, which often accuses him of making irresponsible statements and trivialising sensitive issues.
The latest remarks are part of the continuing war of words between the BJP and the Congress, as political temperatures remain high both inside and outside Parliament.
