In a shocking incident from Solan district, the son of former Shimla BJP MP Virender Kashyap has been booked for reportedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage. The accused has been identified as Dr Brijeshwar Kashyap, a dentist by profession.

 

Police said they received a complaint from a woman who alleged that the accused had a physical relationship with her after promising marriage. She told the police that when she later asked him to marry her, he refused. It was then that she discovered he was already married.

 

Solan SP Gaurav Singh confirmed the incident and said a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 69 (sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, etc.) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He added that further investigation was in progress.
