Tension briefly gripped a coal mining site in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district after a video allegedly showing former state minister Yogendra Sao trying to attack workers with a bow and arrow at the project went viral on social media.

The incident reportedly took place at Chatti Bariatu coal project located under the Keradari police station area in the district.

According to reports, Sao is seen in the video holding a bow and arrow while angrily confronting workers associated with Ritwik Company, which is currently operating the coal project as a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO).

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the former minister arrived at the project site and soon became agitated. He allegedly used abusive language against workers and employees present at the site and was seen attempting to move toward them with a weapon.

The confrontation created panic among workers and briefly disrupted operations at the project.

In the viral footage, a man carrying a bow and arrow can be seen moving around in anger while people nearby attempt to restrain him and calm the situation. The atmosphere at the project site reportedly remained tense for some time following the incident.

Workers associated with Ritwik Company have alleged that such behaviour is not unprecedented. According to them, Sao has previously tried to intimidate company officials and workers and interfere in project activities.

They claim that such incidents have contributed to a persistent sense of fear among employees working at the site.

The video has triggered widespread discussion in the area, with locals expressing concern over the alleged conduct of a former minister. Many have termed the incident serious, particularly due to the alleged use of abusive language and the presence of a weapon.

However, authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the matter. Police sources indicated that the authenticity of the viral video is currently being verified, and appropriate legal action may be taken once the facts are established.
