As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to mount, a joint operation by Military Intelligence and the Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) led to the discovery of counterfeit military uniforms in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

The raid took place on Friday at a shop named Shri Ganesh Army Store, situated in the Booti More locality of Ranchi city.

The operation was initiated following a confidential tip-off received by Military Intelligence in Lucknow, which alerted authorities to suspicious activities linked to the sale of fake Army apparel.

Acting swiftly, the two agencies coordinated a raid and uncovered a stockpile of unauthorized Army uniforms and combat gear.

Sources indicate that these counterfeit items were being manufactured and sold without any formal authorization or oversight from relevant defense authorities.

More concerning is the fact that these items were reportedly being sold to civilians, raising alarms about potential misuse. The presence of such uniforms in the public domain poses a significant risk, especially at a time of heightened national alert.

Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the individuals behind the operation, the source of the materials, and the intended purpose of distributing fake military gear.

Officials are examining whether the activity is part of a larger plot that could endanger national security.

This incident has gained additional significance in light of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, where 26 innocent lives were lost.

The discovery of counterfeit military gear during this period of increased security concern underscores the urgent need for vigilance and stricter monitoring of such activities.
