A 32-year-old man, identified as Karmaveer, reportedly strangled his three children and, thinking they were dead, hanged himself at his home in Nekpur village early Friday morning. While the man and two of his children were declared dead, his son remains in critical condition.

Karmaveer was discovered hanging by family members around 5:00 am. His children — Chhavi (10), Nishant (8), and Srishti (6) — were found unconscious nearby. All four were taken to a private hospital, where Karmaveer and Chhavi were pronounced dead. Srishti later passed away during treatment andNishant is currently fighting for life in the ICU.

The village sarpanch informed the police around 6:30 am. A senior investigating officer said that initial findings indicate Karmaveer strangled his children with a rope before hanging himself.
Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh confirmed that the probe into the domestic dispute is ongoing. He said “The deceased Karmaveer had been having a dispute with his wife Chanchal and a domestic discord led to his extreme step. A police team is attempting to contact the deceased's wife Chanchal. Further action will be taken after receiving statements from the family.”
The bodies of Karmaveer and his two daughters have been sent for postmortem examination.
