Farmers in Haryana sought relief from the Central government on Wednesday after unseasonal rain and hailstorms flattened and damaged wheat crops in Amadalpur village of Jhajjar district.
Om Pal, a farmer, said the losses have been severe and many farmers are struggling. He appealed to the government to provide compensation to help them recover from the damage.
Another farmer, Lal Chand, shared similar concerns. He said unseasonal rainfall has deeply affected farmers and nearly 80 per cent of the crop has been damaged. He urged authorities to extend financial support.
Jagdish, a mango grower from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, also described his losses. He said around 10 to 15 per cent of his mango crop was damaged after untimely rainfall affected the orchards.
He explained that nearly 40 per cent of the mango crop had been produced, but rainfall damaged prematurely ripened fruits, leading to significant losses in the orchard.
