A law student named Tapas fell from the seventh floor of a high-rise apartment in Noida during a party. The incident is being investigated after reports of a dispute with a woman, which may have led to his tragic fall.
Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide, with investigations focusing on the involvement of his friends and a suspected altercation with his alleged girlfriend.
The student, identified as Tapas, was a resident of Ghaziabad and an LLB student at a private university in Noida.
On Saturday evening, Tapas attended a party at Supreme Towers, Sector 99, hosted by a friend. Several of his friends, including a woman he was reportedly close to, were present at the gathering.
According to police sources, Tapas and the woman, who belonged to different communities, had an altercation earlier in the evening.
During the party, Tapas fell from the seventh-floor balcony. The exact circumstances surrounding his fall remain unclear. Upon being alerted, Noida Police arrived at the scene and took custody of the body for a post-mortem examination.
A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against four to five individuals based on a complaint lodged by Tapas’ family.
Some individuals have been taken into custody for questioning.
