An FIR (First Information Report) has been registerd against former Chief Minister and YSRCP (Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his driver Ramana Reddy by the Andhra Pradesh police. A 65-year-old party worker was accidentally hit by their convoy in Guntur on Wednesday while Jagan was on his way to Sattenapalle to meet the family of a deceased party activist.

Police arrested Ramana Reddy on Sunday to question him. The investigators are also investigating why the convoy did not stop when it ran over activist Cheeli Singaiah. Guntur Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar told the police have strong evidence. "We have clear evidence that Singaiah was run over by former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy's car," the SP asserted.

The authorities have filed cases against Jagan, his driver Ramana Reddy, former MP YV Subbareddy and former ministers Vidadala Rajani and Perni Nani under sections applicable.

The police said the incident took place on the outskirts of the Guntur district when Jagan and his entourage were travelling towards Palnadu. The police had initially held a private vehicle responsible for the accident. Later, an investigation into the matter concluded that the convoy of former CM Reddy was responsible.
