A dramatic fire broke out inside a carriage of the Sasaram-Patna passenger train on Monday, completely gutting the vehicle whilst it was stationed at Sasaram railway station. Firefighting teams rushed to the platform and managed to bring the raging flames under control.
Fortunately, railway authorities confirmed that no passengers were injured or killed in the incident, as the carriage was entirely empty at the time. Speaking to reporters, an inspector from the Railway Protection Force confirmed that an official inquiry is already underway to determine the precise cause of the blaze.
This railway incident comes just days after another frightening accident in the same region. On Friday, several children and women sustained injuries when a joyride collapsed at a local 'Disneyland fair' in Sasaram.
The victims were rushed to the nearby Sadar Hospital for emergency treatment. Whilst medical staff confirmed that the injured are currently receiving care, the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed as local authorities launch an investigation into the fairground failure.
