Srinagar Police on Tuesday nabbed five persons in possession of grenades, ammunition and other incriminating material, officials said. During routine checking at Nard Sangri in the Khanmoh area on the outskirts of Srinagar district, police personnel apprehended the five individuals with ammunition, they said.
An official said the police team recovered two hand grenades, two magazines, some live ammunition rounds, posters and six mobile phones from their possession.
A case under relevant Sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act has been registered at Pantha Chowk Police Station, officials said.
