In a heart-wrenching incident on Samana Road near Nassupur village, five school students lost their lives and one was critically injured after a tipper truck laden with sand collided with a private vehicle ferrying the children.
According to initial reports, the students were returning to Samana from their school in Patiala when the accident occurred. The impact of the collision was devastating, forcing the vehicle off the road and into a tree. The front portion of the car was mangled beyond recognition, and emergency responders had to use a crane to retrieve the victims’ bodies.
The injured students have been rushed to the Government Rajindra Hospital, where they remain in critical condition. Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh is expected to visit the hospital to monitor the medical care being provided.
