Like many airports across the nation, flight operations at Srinagar International Airport are gaining momentum despite the ongoing disruptions, much to relief of passengers who suffered a lot due to consistent cancellations over the last few days.

An official spokesperson of Srinagar Airport said that the airport authorities remain fully committed to ensuring seamless passenger facilitation. “Our operations team is closely monitoring the situation and is in constant coordination with IndiGo Airlines to provide all necessary support to passengers,” the spokesperson said.

The airport authorities have assured travellers that every possible effort is being made to manage flight operations smoothly and to minimize inconvenience. Passengers have been advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding their flights.

Flight operations  witnessed partial improvement in fact from  Monday after several days of severe disruptions, though IndiGo’s ongoing network issues continued to affect schedules, leading to multiple cancellations and delays, confirmed an official.

Officials said that of 64 scheduled flights, including 32 arrivals and 32 departures, IndiGo operated 36 flights, of which 16 flights: eight arrivals and eight departures were cancelled, while two others faced delays.

“No other airline reported cancellations today and overall flight operations remained comparatively smoother,” an airport official said.

Pertinently, the cancellations stem from crew shortages and revised DGCA safety duty-time directives, which have led to nationwide rescheduling by airlines, particularly IndiGo. While Jammu saw several of the flights resuming gradually from Saturday, Srinagar Airport witnessed things getting back on track from Monday.

“Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status before travel to avoid inconvenience,” the airport official said.

The day’s relatively stable operations come as a relief after widespread disruptions late last week, when more than 60 flight were affected across Jammu and Kashmir, mostly involving IndiGo services. Passengers whose tickets are booked for the week are only hopeful that there won’t be  disruptions any more for the scheduled flights.
