Harwinder Singh Hans, a Namdhari leader and Chairman of the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), passed away at the age of 86. He died at Max Hospital in Delhi.
Hanspal had previously served as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and represented Punjab in the Rajya Sabha for two terms.
In 2022, he made a significant political shift by resigning from the Indian National Congress and joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), showing his support for the party’s vision for Punjab.
His death has led to an outpouring of tributes from leaders of various political parties and the Namdhari community. He is remembered as an experienced leader, a strong supporter of renewable energy through his role with PEDA, and an influential figure in Punjab’s politics.
