Four individuals involved in drug trafficking were arrested in separate incidents across Shimla district, according to the police. The arrests were made after the police seized significant quantities of illegal substances, including heroin and cannabis.
In the first case, Yashpal, a resident of Sanogi village in Kumarsain tehsil, was apprehended with 43.06 grams of heroin. The second arrest involved Bhupinder, also known as Micky, from Kaloti village in Chirgaon, who was found in possession of 30.6 grams of heroin.
Additionally, Sohan Lal, a resident of Shaloa village in Mandi district, was caught with 1.5 grams of heroin in Shimla. The fourth arrest was made in the village of Sungri, where Bhim Bahadur, a laborer working in an apple orchard, was seized with 118 grams of cannabis.
Shimla's Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi confirmed that the accused have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
