Four persons were killed after a truck overturned and fell on two motorcycles on the national highway in Ambala on Monday.
According to initial reports, the truck was travelling from Delhi to Chandigarh. Police suspect that heavy fog may have reduced visibility, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The truck overturned on the Tangri Bridge National Highway in Shahpur, about two kilometres east of Ambala. The accident blocked the road, officials said.
After receiving the alert, police teams rushed to the spot and began efforts to remove the truck with the help of a crane. Officers said two bodies were found trapped beneath the truck, while two others were found lying beside the damaged vehicle.
The incident led to a major traffic jam on the Delhi–Ambala stretch of the highway.
