The process to select the next national president of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has entered its final stage, with four names now in contention.
According to sources, Suraj Yadav, Munishwar Sharma, Satyam Kushwaha and Akshay Krantiveer are part of the final panel under consideration. A final decision on who will lead the Congress’s student wing is expected soon.
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and NSUI in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar recently screened around 15 candidates for the post. The interaction was held in a group discussion format and lasted about 40 minutes.
During the discussion, Gandhi asked candidates about their personal background, understanding of the current political situation, and knowledge of the Congress party’s history and ideology.
Candidates from different parts of the country participated in the screening process. Party sources said the leadership is carefully evaluating the contenders before announcing the new NSUI president.
With the final panel now narrowed down to four names, it remains to be seen who will emerge as the next national president of NSUI.
