Isolated places in the upper reaches of Lahaul and Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh received a fresh snowfall on Thursday. The lower hills of the state saw intermittent rain during the morning hours.
The Shimla Meteorological Station on Wednesday evening issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms. The warning said thunderstorms could be accompanied by hail, lightning, and winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph. These conditions are likely at isolated places in Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu districts on March 12, 14, and 15.
Mandi and Shimla districts are also expected to witness similar weather conditions on March 12 and 15.
As per the meteorological station, light rain or snowfall is likely at isolated places in the high hills of Himachal Pradesh on March 13. Light rain or snowfall may also occur at isolated places over the mid and high hills on March 16 and 17.
Light to moderate rain or snowfall is expected at a few places in the mid and high hills. Isolated places in the low hills and plains of the state may also receive light rain on March 11, 12, and 14, the meteorological station added.
