Foreign-based gangster Happy Passia has stirred concern by claiming responsibility for an alleged rocket launcher attack on the Kila Lal Singh police station in Gurdaspur, through a post on social media early Monday morning.
The post suggested that his associates had launched the attack in the early hours of the day. However, senior police officials have strongly refuted the claim, stating that there is no evidence of such an incident having taken place.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suhail Qasim Mir stated that he received a call at around 3 a.m. alerting him to a possible attack on the police station. Responding promptly, he dispatched a team led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to the site to investigate the situation.
“The team reported back that there were no signs of any attack. Despite that, we did not take the matter lightly and immediately launched a thorough combing operation in and around the area,” said SSP Mir. “Even after an extensive search, we found no trace of any strike or damage.”

To ensure all procedural steps were taken, the police have also registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the same police station, purely as a precautionary measure. SSP Mir acknowledged that the social media post by Happy Passia, in which he boasted about the attack, was under scrutiny and that further investigation would continue.
An officer associated with the probe mentioned that the panic was likely fuelled by rumours started by certain individuals during the night, which led to confusion and fear in the locality. “Nothing untoward has been discovered, even after detailed checks,” the officer added.
Authorities have dismissed the gangster’s claims as baseless but are continuing to monitor the situation closely while also verifying the authenticity of the social media post and its origin.
