Gangster Sunil Sardhania, the main accused in the firing on Haryanvi singer Rahul Fazilpuria and the murder of property dealer Rohit Shaukeen, has told police that he travelled through 15 countries using the illegal ‘donkey route’ after getting a passport made on fake documents.

The Gurugram Police arrested Sardhania from Delhi International Airport early on Sunday. He is currently on five days of police remand.

According to officials, after obtaining a forged passport from Delhi, Sardhania first flew to Dubai. From there, he travelled illegally through 15 countries and reached the Rico Coast in Central America. He was planning to enter the US when he was attained and brought back to India.

In a video released by the Gurugram Police, Sardhania is seen kneeling and advising young people to stay away from crime.

“I, Sunil Sardhania, have been in the world of crime for the past 15 years. There is nothing in this world. I appeal to everyone — stay safe at home and never connect with any criminal. They will only use you, and you will regret it later. Home is the best,” he stated in the video.

A senior investigating officer said Sardhania entered the world of crime after his father was murdered, which deeply affected him.

“He dropped out after Class 10 and soon joined criminal gangs. A total of 24 serious cases have been registered against him and his associates in several Haryana districts and in Uttar Pradesh,” said Karan Goel, DCP (West).

Police are now investigating gangster Deepak Nandal, a former music producer believed to be operating from London, who allegedly worked with Sardhania in several crimes.
