In a major leadership reshuffle within the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), Giani Raghbir Singh has been relieved of his duties as the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Giani Kuldeep Singh has been appointed as the interim Jathedar of the highest temporal authority of the Sikhs. However, Giani Raghbir Singh will continue to serve as the head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib.

The decision was taken unanimously during an executive meeting of the SGPC, reflecting the organization's strategic leadership changes in key religious positions.

In another significant development, Giani Sultan Singh, the Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, has also been relieved of his duties. Additionally, Baba Tek Singh Dhanaula has been appointed as the Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, marking further changes in leadership across prominent Sikh religious institutions.

Meanwhile, no final decision has been made regarding the resignation of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, adding an element of uncertainty to the ongoing developments within the SGPC. These leadership changes are expected to have a significant impact on the administration of Sikh religious affairs and the functioning of key Takhts in the coming days.
