Goa Police have initiated proceedings through Central agencies to secure a Blue Corner Notice against Surinder Kumar Khosla, an accused in the fire in Birch by Romeo Lane that killed 25 people on December 6, said a senior officer on Saturday.
“Khosla, a British national, was in Goa when the fire occurred. However, he later fled to the UK, probably on the next day (December 7),” the police officer said.
“We have started the process to issue him a blue corner notice to bring him from the UK. Formalities required to be completed with Central agencies are being initiated,” he added.
Besides Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, Khosla is believed to be another of the owners of the nightclub, Birch by Romeo Lane, to whom the property had been leased.
Khosla was engaged in a protracted legal battle with the man who claims to be the original owner of the land, Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar.
Police have so far arrested eight people, including the nightclub’s co-owners Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, and Ajay Gupta, and five others.
