Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that security agencies had traced the IP addresses linked to the series of bomb threats sent to the Golden Temple. He also assured that those responsible would be caught soon.

Mann shared this after meeting with Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami. This was the CM’s first visit to the Golden Temple since July 14 — the day the SGPC received the first threat via email.

The SGPC has received at least eight threat messages so far, which led to swift action from security agencies.

Mann's visit to the Golden Temple came just a day after the Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport also received a similar threat, this time in a letter.

The police had earlier questioned a software engineer from Faridabad, Haryana, in connection with the case. However, they have not yet revealed full details about the people behind the threats.

During his meeting, SGPC officials told the CM that the content of the emails received was different. Mann said security teams were verifying the IP addresses and would act once the addresses are confirmed.

“Exemplary action will be taken against the mischievous elements,” Mann said. “Details will be shared once scientific verification is done,” he further said, adding that proper investigation will be done in the case and no casual approach will be shown in this regard.

He also asked the SGPC to share any further details they might have. He urged the devotees not to panic and assured that the Punjab Police were alert and fully capable of handling the situation.

When asked why he didn’t visit the shrine earlier, Mann stated that the Assembly session was in progress, which delayed his visit.
