Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Friday that the technology giant Google is set to invest ₹88,000 crore (approximately £8 billion) over three years in data centres and Artificial Intelligence projects in Visakhapatnam (Vizag). The Chief Minister highlighted the scale of the commitment, suggesting it would be the "single largest investment" since financial reforms were introduced in independent India, and hailed it as a "gamechanger."

“We have finalised Google data centres (and) Artificial Intelligence. After the emergence of financial reforms in India, a single investment of nearly USD 10 billion or ₹88,000 crore in the coming three years is being made in Vizag,” Naidu stated while addressing a meeting following the inauguration of several private sector projects.

This massive investment will be made through the Google subsidiary Raiden Infotech India Ltd and will involve developing three separate campuses across Tarluvada, Adavivaram, and Rambilli in the Vizag region.

Elaborating on further infrastructure development near the Nellore district, the Chief Minister confirmed that two new ports — Ramayyapatnam and Dugarajapatnam — will be established to complement the existing Krishnapatnam Port.

Similarly, he noted that forthcoming airports at Dagadarthi and Chennai will enhance regional connectivity alongside the Tirupati airport. He also pointed out that proposed bullet train projects linking Hyderabad–Chennai and Chennai–Amaravati would significantly improve regional transport.

The TDP supremo also mentioned that Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) will establish a refinery at Ramayyapatnam.

Expressing his optimistic outlook for the future, Naidu predicted that India would emerge as the world’s leading country and economy by 2047, with Andhra Pradesh becoming the top state in the nation. He further proclaimed that the Telugu community would become the number one community globally.

In other events on the day, the Chief Minister formally opened a private school at Edagai village in Venkatachalam mandal, Nellore district, where he toured the facilities and interacted with students. Later, he also inaugurated a project focused on bull conservation and a bioethanol plant.
