Government outlines security measures for Ram Navami Festival in Ayodhya Dham

With the anticipation of lakhs of devotees flocking to Ayodhya for Lord Ram's darshan during Ram Navami, the first following the consecration of Ram Lalla in his majestic temple, the Uttar Pradesh government is intensifying security measures in and around Ayodhya. This initiative aims to ensure the safety of devotees and facilitate a hassle-free darshan experience.

Officials announced on Sunday that the state government has made elaborate arrangements to observe the festival on a grand scale. The police administration, in particular, has escalated efforts to implement necessary security measures due to the expected large influx of devotees.

In preparation for the Ram Navami Mela, which commenced in Ayodhya Dham on April 9th and will continue until Ram Navami on April 17th, potentially drawing 25 lakh devotees, the police have devised comprehensive plans for crowd management and darshan. Numerous police personnel will be deployed during the event to maintain safety and security.

The fairgrounds have been meticulously divided into seven zones and 39 sectors, with traffic management organized into two zones and 11 clusters. To oversee devotee security throughout the event, a considerable deployment of law enforcement personnel has been arranged, including Additional Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Inspectors, Sub Inspectors, Chief Constables/Constables, Women Sub Inspectors, and Women Chief Constables/Constables, along with 15 Company PACs.

Supplementary duties have been assigned to two companies for flood relief, one team from SDRF, and one team from ATS. Each zone will be supervised by an Additional Superintendent of Police, with designated officers assigned to oversee each sector.

Continuous security will be maintained on the temple premises and within the Mela area, with additional measures implemented to ensure safe darshan experiences.

These measures include the establishment of drop-down barriers and holding areas along Ram Path, as well as the installation of PA systems at 50 locations within the fairgrounds. Continuous surveillance will be conducted through 111 CCTV cameras monitored from the Yellow Zone Control Room.
