West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose on Wednesday visited the family of the woman doctor who was allegedly raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
After returning from Cuttack, Bose went directly to the doctor’s residence in North 24 Parganas from the airport. He spoke privately with her grief-stricken parents, assuring them of justice.
Bose refrained from disclosing details of the conversation, stating, “I will be writing to the Chief Minister in a closed envelope. The parents shared some confidential information.”
Sources close to the Governor indicated that Bose was deeply affected by the family's immense suffering.
The tragic incident has sparked widespread outrage, leading to ongoing protests by junior doctors.
Healthcare services at state-run hospitals across West Bengal have been severely disrupted as junior doctors continued their strike for the 13th consecutive day, demanding justice for the slain postgraduate trainee.
