Air India Express has announced an expansion of its flight operations from Guwahati, Agartala, and Imphal as part of its winter schedule, enhancing connectivity in the North East.
According to a statement issued by the low-cost carrier, weekly flights from Guwahati have been increased to 106, up from 63 last winter.
The airline now provides direct connections to eight domestic destinations—Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, and Kolkata. Additionally, one-stop connectivity is offered to 18 domestic destinations and six international destinations from Guwahati.
Imphal has also seen a significant increase in operations, with weekly flights rising from 14 to 34. Since adding Agartala to its network in September 2024,
Air India Express has increased its flights from 14 to 21 per week, providing direct connections to Guwahati and Kolkata, alongside one-stop access to 11 domestic destinations.
Chief Commercial Officer Ankur Garg emphasised the importance of the expansion, stating, “The expansion not only facilitates easier travel for those wishing to explore North East, but also strengthens Guwahati’s role as a vital link with the rest of the country.”
He further highlighted the airline’s growing fleet, which now exceeds 90 aircraft, as a key enabler of connectivity in emerging Indian cities.
