Air India Express has expanded its domestic network with the launch of six new daily flights, including services from Kolkata, Chennai, and the first direct flight on the Guwahati–Jaipur route.
The new flights were introduced on the Chennai-Bhubaneswar, Chennai-Bagdogra, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata-Varanasi, Kolkata-Guwahati, and Guwahati-Jaipur sectors, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
From Kolkata, the Varanasi flight will depart at 7:40 am, landing in Varanasi at 9:05 am.
The return flight is scheduled to leave at 9:40 am, arriving in Kolkata at 11:10 am.
Meanwhile, the Kolkata-Guwahati flight will take off at 12:10 pm and reach Guwahati by 1:25 pm, with the return leg departing at 1:55 pm and landing in Kolkata at 4:35 pm.
The airline highlighted that five of these routes are entirely new to its growing network. The Guwahati-Jaipur route is exclusive to Air India Express, offering passengers a unique direct connection between these cities.
Responding to rising demand on the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route, which was previously served with just two weekly flights, the airline has introduced an additional daily service, increasing the total to nine flights per week.
Air India Express, part of the Tata Group, currently operates over 380 daily flights with a fleet of 82 aircraft, comprising 54 Boeing 737s and 28 Airbus A320s.
