Haryana Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal. Her body was found stuffed in a suitcase near a bus stand in Rohtak district on Saturday.

According to the police, four teams from Rohtak Police have already been deployed to track down the culprits. The 22-year-old victim lived in Vijay Nagar, Rohtak. Her body was discovered by passersby, who immediately informed the authorities.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda spoke to Rohtak’s Superintendent of Police, urging swift action in the case. He also reached out to Himani’s family, offering condolences and assuring them of full support from the Congress party.

"The culprit must be identified and punished as per the law. Congress stands with Himani’s family in this difficult time," Hooda stated.

Congress MLA B.B. Batra described Himani as an active party worker who had participated in various events, including the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra.’ He demanded strict punishment for those responsible for her murder.

Hooda also raised concerns over Haryana’s law and order situation, particularly crimes against women.

"The rising crime in Haryana, especially against women, is a serious issue. A BSP leader was recently murdered in Naraingarh, the hometown of the Chief Minister. Last year, the INLD state chief was killed in Bahadurgarh, and a JJP leader was murdered in Hansi. Even six MLAs have received extortion threats," he said.

When asked about allegations that some Congress leaders were jealous of Himani’s rapid political rise, Hooda responded, "A criminal is a criminal, whether inside the party or outside. The law must take its course."

Authorities have assured that the investigation will be conducted swiftly and that justice will be served.
