The Haryana BJP has appointed its MLAs, including several ministers, as incharges of 42 assembly seats where the party lost in the 2024 state elections, party sources said.
This decision was made during a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party.
In the 2024 elections, the BJP retained power in Haryana for a third straight term, winning 48 out of 90 seats. The Congress won 37 seats, the INLD got 2, and Independents won 3.
State BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli appointed MLAs as incharges for the 42 seats currently held by opposition MLAs. These include key constituencies like Ambala City, Baroda, Julana, Dabwali, Sirsa, Hisar, Rohtak, Nuh, and Panchkula.
Names of ministers like Vipul Goel, Gaurav Gautam, Rao Narbir Singh, Ranbir Gangwa, Mahipal Dhanda, Krishan Kumar Bedi, Arti Singh Rao, and Shruti Choudhry are on the list. However, senior minister Anil Vij was not included.
According to party sources, the appointed legislators will work at the grassroots level to strengthen the party, identify development needs, and address public issues in these constituencies.
