Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli is confident that his party will return to power with a clear majority in the upcoming assembly elections, citing the "equitable development" carried out under BJP rule.

As the state gears up for elections on October 5, Badoli emphasised that the BJP is seeking votes based on its development agenda.

“We undertook equitable development with the spirit of ‘Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek’. People have made up their mind to bring BJP back to power, and we will again form the government with a clear majority,” Badoli asserted.

He credited the government's adherence to the philosophy of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas' and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s principle of 'Antyodaya' for accelerating development across Haryana.

Badoli took the opportunity to criticise the Congress party, accusing it of practising regionalism and nepotism when it was in power.

"The Congress has been repeatedly rejected by the people. They only spread lies and mislead the public," he said, adding that the BJP's development works stand in stark contrast to the alleged divisive tactics of its rival.

Despite a few internal conflicts over candidate selection, Badoli downplayed any suggestion of a significant rebellion within the party ranks. “There is no rebellion.

Whatever little resentment there may be, we will sort it out together,” he assured, following discontent among some leaders over being denied tickets in the BJP’s first list of 67 candidates.

The BJP is yet to announce the remaining candidates for the 90-member Assembly. When asked about this, Badoli said, "We will do it soon."

The state chief also highlighted the party’s initiatives for various sections of society, including farmers, women, and the poor, claiming that jobs were given on merit during the BJP’s tenure.

Badoli, a sitting MLA, was appointed the BJP's Haryana president in July, and his leadership will be tested as the party aims for a hat-trick in Haryana.

However, the BJP faces a formidable challenge from a resurgent Congress, which is hoping to capitalise on anti-incumbency sentiments against the incumbent government.

The BJP has announced Nayab Saini as its chief ministerial face for the elections.

With voting set for October 5 and results to be declared on October 8, the political landscape in Haryana is poised for a closely contested battle.
