A big Haryana Cabinet meeting will take place today, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. More than 15 proposals will be discussed.
One important topic is a plan to raise the pension for Hindi movement-1957 mother tongue activists from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per month. The meeting will also cover service rules for technical positions in the education department and other related matters.
Currently, the Information, Public Relations, Language, and Culture Department gives a Rs 15,000 monthly pension to 161 activists or their surviving spouses. In June, Chief Minister Saini had announced the plan to increase the pension.
The proposed rise to Rs 20,000 per month will cost an additional ₹96.60 lakh each year, bringing the total annual cost to about Rs 3.86 crore.
