A high-level delegation, led by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, on Tuesday travelled from Tokyo to Osaka aboard the Shinkansen-Osaka bullet train during their official visit to Japan.
The Shinkansen is known for its modern infrastructure, high safety standards, and excellent operational efficiency. It is widely considered a model of a modern transport system.
The Saini-led delegation is in Japan with an aim to attract foreign investment and promote global industrial activities in Haryana, according to an official statement.
The delegation includes Haryana’s Minister of Industries and Commerce Rao Narbir Singh, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, and other senior officials.
The statement added that during the train journey, CM Saini said India was also moving towards a rapid transport revolution under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Saini mentioned that under the “Viksit Bharat” initiative, a high-speed train corridor is being developed between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. This will be India’s first bullet train project.
Saini described travelling on Japan’s Shinkansen bullet train as an inspiring experience.
He added that soon, citizens in India will also be able to enjoy such fast, safe, and comfortable travel. During the journey, the delegation studied Japan’s railway operations, maintenance, passenger safety, and technological innovations.
Saini said Haryana, along with the rest of India, will draw inspiration from Japan’s experience and technical expertise to improve its own transport systems.
