Opposition Congress gets a jolt as its veteran party leader Ram Niwas Rada joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The induction took place in Chandigarh in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Rada, who contested the recent Assembly elections but lost, had also sought the Congress ticket for the Hisar Mayor post. However, after being denied the ticket, he made the decision to join the BJP.
Apart from Ram Niwas, Bihari Lal Rada, the former municipal chairman, Youth Congress district chief Rohit, along with other leaders from Hisar also joined the BJP.
The Chief Minister welcomed them into the party during the ceremony.
