Senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday held a strategic meeting with party MLAs to discuss key public issues in the state and chalk out the party’s future course of action.
During the meeting, legislators reviewed Haryana’s socio-political and economic situation, focusing on rising fuel prices, inflation, unemployment, and the issue of recruitment of outsiders in state government jobs. Concerns were also raised over the increasing crime rate, ongoing strike by sanitation workers, dissatisfaction among government employees, and alleged administrative irregularities.
Farmers’ issues, including minimum support price (MSP) concerns and fertilizer shortages, were also discussed. MLAs further highlighted problems related to power cuts and water scarcity in several districts of the state.
Following the discussions, it was decided to convene a meeting of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on June 3 in Chandigarh. The party is expected to finalise its strategy to raise these issues both inside the Assembly and among the public in the coming months.
In another organisational move, Haryana Congress has also called a high-level meeting on May 27 to discuss grassroots strategy and the Special Investor Region (SIR) policy. The meeting will be led by Hooda and Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Rao Narendra Singh.
Booth-level agents and district Congress presidents from across the state will attend the meeting to strengthen organisational coordination and election preparedness at the grassroots level.
