Haryana Minister Krishan Lal Panwar was injured in a road mishap near a toll plaza on the national highway in Panipat on Friday, officials said. Development and Panchayat Minister Panwar was going in an SUV when the accident took place.
Dalbir, SHO of the police station concerned, said a vehicle ahead suddenly stopped on the road, forcing the minister’s convoy to apply brakes abruptly. Police said the SUV collided with a vehicle in the convoy ahead, causing the airbags to deploy due to the impact.
The minister escaped with minor injuries but was taken to the civil hospital in Panipat after he complained of pain in his wrist and swelling, along with discomfort in his knee.
According to Panipat Superintendent of Police Bhupender Singh, the minister is doing fine and is under observation.
Chief Medical Officer Vijay Malik said several tests were conducted at the hospital, including a CT scan of the head and spine. He added that all reports were found to be normal.
