Arti Singh Rao, Health Minister of Haryana on Tuesday said that the state government has empanelled four reputed hospitals in Punjab to provide advanced treatment to government employees, pensioners and their family members.
These include Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Mullanpur; Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Sangrur; Regional Spinal Injuries Centre in Sector 70, Mohali; and Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in Mohali.
According to an official statement, these hospitals provide advanced treatment for serious diseases such as cancer, spinal injuries and liver-related ailments.
The health minister said the decision was taken to ensure better and specialised medical facilities for government employees and pensioners.
She said that in many cases the treatment of serious diseases requires specialised hospitals, and the empanelment of these institutions will help patients receive timely and better treatment.
In case of an emergency, disaster, epidemic or a sudden surge of patients in government hospitals, these empanelled hospitals will offer facilities such as ambulances, ICU/CCU, burn units, wards, beds and mortuary services as needed, the statement added, quoting a spokesperson of the Haryana Health Department.
Arti Singh Rao further said said the Haryana government is constantly working to offer better healthcare facilities to employees, pensioners and the public, and such initiatives will continue in the future as well.
