The first phase of the proposed Rs 80 crore “Drone City Haryana” project will be launched by Gurugram-based AVPL International at Sisai village in Hisar on Saturday, according to officials.
The project has received Rs 58.51 crore as incentive support under the Haryana Enterprise and Employment Policy-2020 and aims to build a complete system for drone manufacturing, research, testing, training, and innovation.
Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi will inaugurate the project. Former finance minister Captain Abhimanyu, senior government officials, and industry representatives will also be present.
According to AVPL International, the project is likely to generate employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for over 800 youth in Haryana. This will include work in drone manufacturing, operations, technical training, and related fields.
A special orientation programme under the “500 Drone Udhami Scheme” for Scheduled Caste youth will also be conducted in partnership with the Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation.
Under this programme, 500 SC youth will receive training to become drone entrepreneurs, pilots, technicians, and agri-drone service providers. Covering about 11.5 acres, Drone City Haryana will include 23 industrial sheds for drone and drone-component companies from across India. It will support different types of drones, including agricultural, industrial, logistics, surveillance, and advanced UAV systems.
The ecosystem will have drone manufacturing units, component production plants, testing and demo zones, research labs, pilot and technician training centres, agriculture drone operations, and entrepreneurship programmes.
Preet Sandhu, Founder and Managing Director of AVPL International, said the project is designed to connect manufacturers, startups, innovators, and training institutions on one platform focused on future technologies.
The project was formally launched with the foundation stone being laid by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on September 8, 2025.
