In a major administrative exercise, the Haryana Government on Tuesday ordered the transfer and posting of over 40 Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers with immediate effect. The move aims to strengthen policing, improve administrative functioning, and enhance law enforcement across the state.
The order, issued by the Home Department with the Governor’s approval, involves a large-scale reshuffle of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs). The transfers cover several important districts, including Gurugram, Faridabad, Panipat, Rohtak, Nuh and Karnal, as part of efforts to streamline policing operations.
Among key postings, Pranay Kumar has been appointed ACP Gurugram, while Harvinder Singh has been transferred to Shahabad. Surinder Kaur has been transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), and Siddharth has been posted to Panipat. Ramesh Chander has been assigned to the 2nd Battalion of Haryana Armed Police at Madhuban, while Ravi Khundia has also been shifted to the ACB.
The reshuffle places strong focus on strengthening vigilance and investigative wings. Officers such as Mukesh Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Abhilaksh Joshi and Munish Sehgal have been posted to State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau units. Meanwhile, Aman Yadav and Kapil Ahlawat have been deployed in the Crime Investigation Department (CID), reflecting an increased emphasis on intelligence-led policing.
Urban policing centres, particularly the Gurugram-Faridabad region, have received special attention in the latest transfers. Vipin Kadian has been posted as ACP Ballabgarh, Sandeep Sharma as ACP Mujesar in Faridabad, and Priyanshu Dewan as ACP Gurugram. Dr. Kavita, Jai Singh and Surender Singh have also been appointed as ACPs in Gurugram to strengthen leadership and field supervision.
The government has also carried out postings in training institutions and operational units. Ashok Kumar has been assigned to the Haryana Police Academy at Madhuban, while Hardeep Singh has been posted to the Police Training Centre in Sunaria, Rohtak. Several officers have been deployed in IRB and HAP battalions to maintain operational preparedness.
According to the official order, some officers have been posted against vacant positions while others have replaced transferred officials. The reshuffle, approved by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sudhir Rajpal, has been circulated to the Director General of Police and senior officers for immediate implementation.
Officials view the large-scale transfers as a strategic step to improve accountability and policing standards. The exercise is also aimed at tackling emerging challenges such as urban crime, corruption and organised criminal activities across Haryana.
