Himachal Pradesh is likely to receive heavy rain over the next two days. The local weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Bilaspur, Una, and Hamirpur, and a yellow alert in Kangra, Mandi, Solan, and Sirmaur for Monday.
Very heavy rainfall is expected in Bilaspur, Una, and Hamirpur, while Kangra, Mandi, Solan, and Sirmaur may receive heavy rain in some areas. An orange alert has again been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Kangra, and Sirmaur, and a yellow alert for Shimla, Hamirpur, Mandi, and Solan on Tuesday.
The weather department says light to moderate rain will continue across the state till August 9, with chances of heavy to very heavy rain at times. Maximum temperatures may drop by 2 to 4 degrees in the coming days, but minimum temperatures are likely to stay normal.
In the last 24 hours, many parts of the state saw rainfall. The highest was 110 mm in Bharari (Hamirpur), followed by Murari Devi (Mandi) – 80 mm, Naina Devi (Bilaspur) – 70 mm, Una – 38 mm, Hamirpur and Chamba – 18 mm each, Palampur – 10.8 mm, Bhuntar – 9.2 mm, Kangra – 8.1 mm, and Shimla – 5.4 mm.
