Heavy rain likely in Himachal from Sept 12 to 14

On September 12, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected at some places in Una, Bilaspur and Kangra. On September 13, Shimla, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur will also come under a yellow alert. On September 14, the warning continues for Kangra, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur.

The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain for Himachal Pradesh over the next few days. A yellow alert has been issued for September 12 to 14.

 

On September 12, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected at some places in Una, Bilaspur and Kangra. On September 13, Shimla, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur will also come under a yellow alert. On September 14, the warning continues for Kangra, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur.

 

The heavy downpour has already taken a toll on the state. At least 586 roads, including four national highways, are blocked. Around 571 power transformers are also out of service.

 

According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, Kullu is worst hit with 216 blocked roads, including NH-3 and NH-305. Mandi has 150 blocked roads, Shimla 58, Kangra 42, Sirmaur 28, Una 20, Bilaspur 10, Lahaul-Spiti 7 and Kinnaur 3, which also includes NH-5. Three roads have been blocked in Hamirpur.
