In response to heightened tensions following India's recent counter-terrorist action under Operation Sindoor, security has been significantly intensified at the Ferozepur Cantonment Railway Station to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
Acting on the directives of Special DGP Railways Punjab, Shashi Prabha Dwivedi, and under the supervision of Dy SP Jagmohan Singh (Sub-Division Ferozepur), a joint security operation was carried out today by the Government Railway Police (GRP), led by SHO Naveen Kumar. The operation was conducted in close coordination with personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Anti-Sabotage Team.
Key areas across the station—including platforms, railway yard, parcel office, booking counters, parking zones, and cycle/scooter stands—were thoroughly inspected. Security personnel also carried out checks on incoming and outgoing trains, with passengers undergoing detailed screening as part of the high-alert measures.
The enhanced security protocols follow intelligence inputs warning of potential retaliatory actions after India's strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. The authorities have reassured the public of continued vigilance at critical transit points across Punjab and have appealed for public cooperation during security procedures.
