A helicopter transporting seven individuals, mostly pilgrims, was forced to make an emergency landing near Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath due to technical issues.
Departing from the Sirsi helipad for Kedarnath early Friday, the helicopter was captured in a video circling above the helipad before landing near a Himalayan temple, causing concern among onlookers.
Fortunately, all passengers are reported safe, according to news agency PTI, citing an official.
Rudraprayag District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar stated that the helicopter experienced a malfunction in its rear motor, prompting the pilot to execute the landing.
Gaharwar commended the pilot's calmness and quick decision-making, which prevented a major accident. The incident occurred at approximately 7 am, with further investigations currently underway.
