Himachal Pradesh is likely to witness spells of heavy rain starting July 26, as the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several districts from July 26 to 28.
Rain is expected at isolated places during this period, while light to moderate showers will continue across the state till July 30. Day temperatures may drop by 3°C to 5°C, but night temperatures are expected to stay normal.
In the last 24 hours, monsoon activity remained normal in the state. Many areas received light to moderate rain. Nagrota Surian in Kangra got the highest rainfall at 50 mm, followed by Naina Devi with 30 mm rain. Other places like Nahan, Kasauli, Chamba, Shimla, Palampur, Dharamsala, and Kangra also received rain.
Maximum temperatures in the state ranged between 17°C and 35°C. Shimla recorded 24°C, Dharamsala 30.1°C, Manali 26.2°C, Dalhousie 23.4°C, and Kangra 32°C. The hottest places were Bilaspur (35.6°C), Mandi and Sundernagar (33.6°C each), and Hamirpur (33.2°C) while Kufri and Narkanda were at 21.1°C.
