Senior Congress leader and former minister, Vidya Stokes, 96, has been admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College hospital here after some health issues. She is said to have weakness and age-related medical problems.
" The report of her CT scan is normal. However, her blood tests could not be done today," said IGMC Medical Superintendent, Dr Rahul Rao.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Health Minister, Col (retd) Dhani Ram Shandil and Media Advisor to CM, Naresh Chauhan visited IGMC to know her well-being.
Stokes has been MLA from the Theog Assembly segment of Shimla district eight times from 1974 to 2017. She was Speaker of the HP Assembly from 1985 to 1990 and senior minister in former six-time CM late Virbhadra Singh's cabinet twice from 2003-2007 and 2012-2017.
