The death toll from the flash floods in Himachal Pradesh has increased to 11, with the recovery of two more bodies from Mandi district. Meanwhile, the rescue operations are ongoing, with 410 rescuers from various teams involved in the search for over 40 missing people.

The state government has announced immediate relief measures, including a one-time payment of Rs 50,000 and monthly assistance of Rs 5,000 for rent, gas, food, and essentials.

The floods, triggered by cloudbursts in three districts, have caused widespread destruction, with the state suffering a loss of Rs 662 crore since the onset of monsoon on June 27.

Seventy-nine people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in the state, according to the state emergency operation centre.

The rescue efforts are focused on locating missing persons, with sniffer dogs, drones, and other equipment being used.

The flow of water has been reduced, allowing machines to reach areas where missing persons may be found.
