Himachal police reshuffle: 14 IPS, 4 SPs shifted

The Himachal Pradesh government has announced the transfer and posting of 14 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and two Himachal Pradesh Police Service (HPPS) officers. The reshuffle also includes the shifting of Superintendents of Police in four districts in a major administrative changes carried out here.

The Himachal Pradesh government has announced the transfer and posting of 14 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and two Himachal Pradesh Police Service (HPPS) officers. The reshuffle also includes the shifting of Superintendents of Police in four districts in a major administrative changes carried out here.

 

According to the orders issued late Thursday evening, Gaurav Singh, currently SP Solan, has been transferred to Shimla in the same capacity. He will replace Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, who has recently been promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). Gandhi has meanwhile been placed at the disposal of the Department of Personnel, Shimla.

 

Tirumalaraju S.D. Varma, who was serving as ADC to the Governor, has been posted as SP Solan. He will be replaced by Sandeep Kumar Bhardwaj, SP, State Human Rights Commission, Shimla, who will take over as ADC to the Governor.

 

Sachin Hiremath, SP, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV & ACB), Mandi, has been posted as SP Una. He will replace Amit Yadav, who has been directed to report to the Police Headquarters, Shimla.

 

Vinod Kumar, a 2006-batch HPPS officer currently serving as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Traffic, Tourist and Railway (TTR), Shimla, has been transferred as SP Mandi. He will replace Sakshi Verma, who has been posted as SP, SV & ACB, Mandi.

 

D K Chaudhary, Principal, Police Training College, Daroh, Kangra, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IG), Armed Police and Training, Daroh. As a result, Bimal Gupta, IG, SV & ACB, Shimla, has been relieved of this additional charge. The additional charge of Principal, Police Training College, Daroh, has been given to Soumya Sambasivan, IG (Northern Range), Dharamshala.

 

Besides, SP Cyber Crime Rohit Malpani, who was recently promoted as DIG, has been posted as DIG Cyber Crime, Shimla. Ramesh Chander Chhajta, SP (Leave Reserve), has been transferred as DIG, Prisons and Correctional Services, Shimla, while Devakar Sharma, Commandant, 4th Indian Reserve Battalion, Jangalberi, has been posted as DIG, Intelligence and Security, Dharamshala.

 

Devakar Sharma will be replaced by Arvind Chaudhary, currently serving as SP (Leave Reserve), Shimla. Meanwhile, Abhishek Dular, IG, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as IG, Communication and Technical Services, Shimla.
