In an impressive achievement, Himachal Pradesh Police has secured the first rank in the country for average response time under the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) for April 2026.
The state police recorded an average response time of 3 minutes and 36 seconds, making it the fastest emergency response force in the country. Officials said the average call-taker response time stood at two minutes and one second, while the average dispatcher response time was just 12 seconds.
Himachal Pradesh was followed by Dadra and Daman and Diu Police with an average response time of four minutes and 36 seconds. Lakshadweep Police ranked third with five minutes, while Chandigarh Police secured the fourth position with an average response time of five minutes and eight seconds.
