Hooda accused the BJP government of corruption and negligence regarding the Hisar and Karnal airports, stating that a massive scam led to delays and security concerns.
He claimed that the Congress government had approved the development of domestic airports in Hisar and Karnal in 2013, following feasibility studies conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Haryana government in 2012. The land for the upgrade was provided as required by the AAI.
In 2015, the Civil Aviation Ministry, under BJP rule, also accepted the Congress-led plan, listing Hisar and Karnal among 50 locations for small airport development. However, Hooda alleged that the BJP government stalled the project and instead focused on corruption.
He highlighted a ₹180 crore scam in the construction of the boundary wall of Hisar airport, stating that the wall was built without a proper foundation, creating a serious security risk. He warned that animals could enter the airport premises, endangering aircraft during takeoff and landing.

Hooda further noted that Haryana’s Public Works Department (PWD) had undertaken work worth ₹362 crore at the Hisar airport, including the boundary wall, runway, and inspection road. Reports suggest concerns over whether the runway meets DGCA standards, posing a potential risk to passengers' safety.
Hooda also claimed that officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), including the Director General of Civil Aviation, expressed dissatisfaction with the Haryana government and its PWD department.
Allegedly, they barred them from undertaking any further work at Hisar airport, with the project now expected to be handled directly by the AAI.
He questioned whether this was not proof of the BJP government’s failure, corruption, and inefficiency. Calling for a high-level independent investigation, he demanded strict action against those responsible.
